With the large number of factors impacting a child’s success in school, there has been conflicting information regarding the importance and effectiveness of homework. However, several studies have suggested that the benefit of homework increases with the child’s age and grade level. The National Parent Teacher Association suggests that homework for K-2 is most effective when it does not exceed 20 minutes a day.
