Have you ever wondered what happens to your bag after it is out of your site at the airport?
The Fleet service agents take over from that point. They make sure your bag gets to its destination, even
though most of the times they are using inadequate equipment or even having barely enough
equipment to get the job done.
These folks are rarely seen and never heard. They are the ones who do everything from bringing in the
airplanes in a safe manner to the gate, doing visual safety inspections, loading and unloading the bags,
entering flight loads into the computer system, pushing out the aircraft from the gate and more. They
are doing all of this and making sure everything is safe for the passengers.
These are the men and women who break their backs to keep the airlines running and yet they are barely
making ends meet. It;s tough for them to go away on vacations and pay for hotels, if they ever get a
chance to do so..
So the next time your on an airplane, think about the men and women behind the scenes who make it
all possible so you can bring your belongings with you and making sure you have a safe flight.
Pack a little lighter, help them save their backs, not to mention saving yours from lifting your suitcase to
your destination. Why carry extra weight when it's not needed!
Next time you see one of them through the airplane window, wave and say “thanks” for all they are doing.
Way to go Fleet Service agents, you keep the planes flying high!
