When you look at cars, here's a general list of things to remember and
check. Remember to do you research first!  This is only a small segment
of items to check.  Research Books, magazines, internet resources,
friends and etc to get the best car and price for your needs.

Don't forget to call your insurance company first to see what the cars
that you will be looking at will cost in insurance.  Do this first!
NEW CAR
  • Remember, in order to find out the price of a new car, you have to research it very, very, very thoroughly to find out a ballpark of
    what a car should cost that you are interested in.
  • There are some Internet sites on our website that are helpful to help with some of this research.
  • If you are financing the car, find out what the Cost is to do this.  The monthly rate may sound good, but if your financing it for 6
    years, you may not be getting the best deal.
  • It is Usually best to find out the GRAND total of the car first, then figure out if the car is in your budget.
  • Don't pay for extras you don't need either on a vehicle.  Just buy what you need.
  • Does the Dealers website have the car listed cheaper on it's website, than on the car lot?
  • Remember, it's up to you to check all of these places to make sure you are getting the best price.
  • If you have a trade in, Find out what the new car cost first, then at the end find out what the cost will be if you decide to trade it in.
USED CAR

  • Check the Tires and make sure they are in good shape.
  • Check to see if there is any oil leaking from the vehicle underneath.  Are any parts under it moist with oil?
  • How does the Engine Look, Clean, together, no parts missing?
  • Has the oil been changed and a new oil filter installed on it.  Look at the oil on a paper towel, is it clean?
  • Has the air filter been changed at the dealer and is clean.
  • Does the power steering fluid look clean or is it dirty?
  • Does the Brake Fluid look clear and clean, or is it dirty and brown?
  • Check the brakes, look and see that the pads are not worn thin.
  • Check the Belts, do the belts look brittle and worn?
  • Does the air conditioning work correctly or does it blow warm air?
  • Do all the Lights and wipers work?
  • Do all the switches and buttons work correctly?
  • Do the power seats and sunroof work correctly?
  • Look for water damage, the Internet has good sites on what to look for on this.
  • Review the emission papers, did it pass, was it high on the chart for emissions.
  • Remember to make sure everything works good, if not, look at other cars or you may end up paying for alot of replacement parts.
