School Tips
1) Dealing with Paperwork Overload if your child is a new student in kindergarten, check with your school to make sure all registration forms are completed. Don’t forget to update emergency contact phone numbers and any documents that your Doctor’s office will need to complete.
2) School Supplies Having your child pick out their own supplies can assist with getting them excited in school. Take advantage of sale prices and pick up some extra items for later in the year.
3) Preparing your child A healthy breakfast and lunch can assist with your child’s energy levels throughout the day. Take the time to plan meals now. Have regular bed time hours. Listen carefully to your child’s concerns or fears about school. Reading books about going back to school can assist younger children with concerns. Share stories of your own school experiences with your child. Take advantage of any orientation activities the school may offer.
Remember to always set aside time during the evening so that you can talk to your child about all the fun things they did in school. This also shows that you are interested in their school work and makes them want to do well in it.
