"Local Celebrity Interview with Mark Mathis Formerly Of Fox News Rising"
|
We often go through life seeing people on television, but we really never get to know who they really are and what there about.
Life moves at the blink of an eye. We sometimes miss out on the Human Side of our local television talent. Television is a great
medium for bringing all sorts of information to the viewers of our local viewing audiences. Ironically though, we never get to know
the local talent on a more personal level. After all, we bring our local television celebrities into our homes on a daily basis,
through the magic of television. Plus we drink our coffee with them, every morning.
We at CharlotteOneStop.com, would like to introduce our local Charlotte Celebrities to you on a more personal level. Mark
Mathis is our first interviewed “Local Celebrity,” of Charlotte. It’s a little window into his busy life.
Mark is a talented, charismatic and energetic individual. I enjoyed meeting with him and appreciate the time he gave for our
interview. He has worked in a number of cities here in the Southeast. Mark works hard and knows how to enjoy himself in our
beautiful city of Charlotte, NC, in his spare time. Below, in our interview you will find out a little more about Mark.
1.) When young, did you think you would end up on TV and being a newscaster?
Yes, I enjoy the performance part of the presentation. I originally wanted to do sports but fell into doing the weather and
continued to move up. The whole “crazy” weather began out of my frustration with the sensationalism of weather at some
stations.
2.) How does it feel to see yourself on TV?
After 20 years of doing it, its not that big of a deal. But I do enjoy meeting people who watch our show! Thats a kick for
me.
3.) Where were you born and have most memories of growing up?
Born in Austin Texas. Most of my childhood memories were in Dallas Texas, with awesome memories of the Dallas
Cowboys. I love the Panthers unless they are playing the Cowboys. I have some wonderful memories of Dallas and
playing sports growing up and First Baptist Church. Typical normal childhood but full of memories.
4.) Favorite thing you do to unwind from the stress of living life?
My Favorite things to do to unwind are playing golf or unwinding with friends. I enjoy theater events or traveling. But,
mostly just chillin. I would like to say I like to work out but Anna is getting on me about my lack of doing so!!!!

I will never forget Smokey and The Bandit, Top Gun and JFK.

None at this time, they all seem to die.
18.) Everyone passes on in life, what would your tombstone say and what music would you want played at your funeral?
My tombstone would read, “He didn’t die with the music still in him,” and I want Anna to sing with her happy hands club
and I want Tera to do the Eulogy.
